Berk’s journey into creating cigar humidors began around 2007 when he first conceived the idea of designing his own. After observing that most existing humidors adhered to traditional designs or simply used different materials without introducing new concepts, he saw an opportunity for innovation. Even a premium German car brand’s attempt at a humidor fell short of expectations, reinforcing his determination to break the mold.
The inspiration for his first humidor stemmed from his travels to China. While developing the design concept, he was influenced by ancient Chinese coins—round with a square hole in the center—symbolizing the unity of heaven and earth, described as being "square within and round without."
His first humidor, DeLight, was an instant success. It was featured as a "FrontRunner" by Robb Report in the US, Spain, and China, and even became part of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s collection. In 2012, it received the Best Product Award at Successful Design China. Additionally, the Double Happiness humidor was featured again in the FrontRunner section of Robb Report’s October 2013 "Ahead of its Class" issue.
Humidors by Berk, shaped by his architectural background, challenge conventional design principles and offer something truly unique. His bold creations continue to defy expectations, blending the unexpected with the extraordinary. They stand as a testament to his ability to seamlessly combine art, function, and innovation, redefining what a humidor can be.
